Simon Marsh, The Business Show (Mondays & Fridays) and local representative for Care for the Family, mentioned this on air, here is more info:
Care for the Family are passionate about supporting families and couples. Part of that support is through the high-quality, accredited training and courses they offer to professionals and volunteers who work with them.
Let’s Stick Together that’s the name of a course run by Care for the Family which gives new parents relationship skills to help keep families together.
NB Family breakdown not only shatters lives, it costs this country £42,000,000,000 every year.
This course is part funded by the Government’s Education Department, with Care for the Family as the sole providers. So far, there are a few presenters around Bristol, a few in the Midlands, one in north Hampshire & two in Christchurch, Dorset.
Simon Marsh is one of them and he is looking for 10 – 12 people to volunteer to join him to cover the Bournemouth/ Poole/ Christchurch areas. The course offered only takes one hour to deliver as part of the post natal support given by health visitors. It takes one day (5 hours including a lunch break) to go through this course & become a presenter.
This course has two main thrusts for the Christian community. Firstly, it provides a much needed service to the community at large and secondly it introduces Care for the Family as a provider of a range of parenting courses, which can be delivered by your church and hopefully by you as a church rep!
