Stuart Sharkey

Stuart admits to being born a long, long time ago one summer morning in August in the Northern outpost of Newcastle-Upon-Tyne.

After a 39 year distraction qualifying and working as an accountant for various organisations, Stuart now finds himself presenting the Good Afternoon Show on Wednesday's with his wife Vicki.

Stuart has worked on various Hope FM programmes since 1994 and during this time has interviewed people as diverse as Billy Bragg, The Proclaimers, The Bishop of Jerusalem, Anita Roddick, G.P. Taylor and his personal favourite Zoughbi Zoughbi, the Director of the Palestinian Conflict Resolution Center based in Bethlehem. Previous Radio work has included Radio Shambles at Weymouth Hospital and Ridgeway Radio

After journey that has involved living in County Durham, Middlesex and Buckinghamshire, Stuart now lives in Weymouth, Dorset with his wife Vicki. Stuart and Vicki have three daughters - Nadine, Esther and Lydia - and one son in-law Jang Geun (Esther's husband).

In his spare time Stuart is involved in various activities at Weymouth Baptist Church and is also a keen follower of sport and for the last +30 years he has avidly followed the ups and downs of his football team, Watford FC.

Stuart has always had a love of music and can remember buying his first record, a Tommy Steele ditty called "The Only Man on the Island" which, if his memory serves him correctly, was coupled with a song about a man who lived in a fridge and put the fridge light on when the door was opened. Why don’t they write songs like that anymore? His music tastes have matured a little and current favourite artists include The Blind Boys of Alabama, Ian Matthews, Rich Mullins, Pink Floyd, Joni Mitchell, Eric Bibb, Charity Quinn, Chris Farlowe and The Who.

Emma Rickard

Twenty something, local girl, became a Christian in 2007 and got involved with radio in 2008 making her debut co-presenting with the P. (our very own station manager Kevin Potter) on Drive. Emma is bubbly, fun loving, and loves music anything from Jason Upton to chase n status (ANYTHING BUT COUNTRY! - sorry Westie). Emma also loves dancing, being spontaneous and food. Emma always answers questions with a question and is always within the 2% of the population when doing those really annoying quizzes!!
