As a community station, what we bring to local radio sets is very different to normal commercial stations. Pray that local people get excited about a station they can truly 'own' and become part of. We want to bring news of everything that is good and true happening in our community and want the many varied organisations and people groups to get involved with us and work alongside us and we them.
Continue to pray that now we have become established locally that more listeners will get to know all about Hope FM and will tune in to 90.1 FM. Kevin Potter, Sheena Dayman, Paul Woodland & the website team:Kevin Potter has two roles at Hope FM - that of Station Manager & Programmes Manager. His main role is ensuring all the shows come to air, having presenters in place, and so forth. It also includes preparing the programme schedules, training presenters and support staff and ensuring that everything is brought together in the right way. Kevin is very experienced and works extremely hard so please pray He will be given extra reserves of energy but also a sense of peace while he puts in so much. Sheena Dayman is our Sales and Development Manager and provides us with a link to the many churches and businesses locally that we work alongside and receive support from through sponsorship and advertising. Pray she is received warmly by the church leaders she engages with and for clear organisation as she carries out a lot of work behind the scenes. Blair Crawford is the Executive Director of Hope FM and has oversight of the station overall but is also the Executive Director of the YMCA so has more than a full-time job on his hands! His was the original vision for a radio station with a community heart and a Christian ethos and he has a real heart for Christian radio along with a passion for the people in his care. Blair presents the weekday Breakfast Show which means getting up very early, presenting a 2-hour show and then doing a full day's work! Please pray he is given reserves of strength but also an ability to step aside at times and relax. He works very hard! Engineering and Technical Team:Any radio station has a phenomenal amount of technical equipment and Hope FM is no different. In order to keep the station on the air, we have a team of people. Paul Woodland is part of this team acting as producer & assistant music compiler. We also have Hope FM streamed live via the internet. This is maintained by Wayne Simpson. Please pray that all of our technicians are able to respond quickly to any issues, preferably before they cause an off-air situation. Hope FM on the Internet:The web admin team ensure the website is updated as frequently as possible. They work on a voluntary basis and the role does take a fair bit of time, so please pray they are able to maintain the website and highlight anything important for listeners to find quickly and easily. HopeFM support:The regulations for community radio stipulate that we are allowed to cover 50% of our running costs by way of advertising but the rest has to be found from private support, church sponsorship and so forth. Please pray that people will continue to catch hold of the vision that we have to see Hope FM reaching into people's lives with a real message of hope: in short, 'Life Changing Radio'. Pray the Lord will move some to commit to regular support both by way of praying for the station and by becoming members of the Hope FM Supporters' Club, providing us with vital financial support.
