Welcome to 'FULFILLED LIVES' presented by Ann and Eric Brignall. We hope to raise the awareness of people in the community who live with a range of disabilities by encouraging some to speak live, on air, about how they are able to live fulfilled lives, with the help and support of others. If you would like to participate in the show do contact us - see below Guests in September:6th: Denise Birkby shares her story of living a fulfilled life despite having 2 disabilities... 13th: We talk to Lydia George about her work with For Life, supporting abandoned disabled children in Thailand. 20th: TBC 27th: David Adams talks about his involvement with the Camphill Community providing a home and work for many people with a range of disabilities. Guests in August were:2nd: Our focus this evening is on epilepsy. We talk to Trevor Hutton from NSE (National Society for Epilepsy) and also to some people affected by the illness... 9th: We catch up with Glenda Pike from Wheels for the World, to find out where they have been distributing wheelchairs in recent months and future plans. 16th: Having talked about wheelchair distribution last week, we continue to consider this ministry and a number of others that Joni Eareckson Tada is involved with in USA. 23rd: We talk to Jenny Hirst, co-chairman of IDDT (Insulin Dependent Diabetes Trust), about her personal experience of diabetes and how IDDT supports others with diabetes 1 and 2. 30th: Amanda Parsons recalls the formation of Bournemouth People First and how its developed over the past 10 years. She promotes their first Festival taking place at Boscombe Chine Gardens, 12-4pm on Saturday September 11th. 30th: TBC Eric was born in Chelmsford, Essex (birthplace of radio) and was brought up on a farm. Ann is a local lass born and brought up in Poole, moving to Bournemouth at twelve years of age.
Major influences on Eric's life were "Dennis Clark, a friend, a good bible teacher, an evangelist and director of Youth For Christ in Europe in the 1950s and Don Cranefield, minister of Southall Baptist Church in 1960s. For Ann it was "a friend called Dinky in my first place of work who helped me become a Christian. Favourite holiday destinations for both are Corfu and for Ann also Devon and Cornwall. Eric likes walking in the countryside in fine weather with good views, Ann likes coastal walks with the chance of a swim - they usually find a compromise!
