0900 - 1100 SaturdayDo you remember....?
Geoff Boland Hope FM has been around for quite a few years but Contemporary Christian Music has for a lot longer. Have you ever thought 'I wonder whatever happened to...' and then added names like Garth Hewitt, Phil Keaggy, Sheila Walsh, 2nd Chapter of Acts, Bryn Haworth, Andrae Crouch, Jessy Dixon, ... and so the list goes on! Well, this is the show for you. A trip back to hear again some of the much-loved work of the pioneers of CCM that we only get to listen to if we kept our record players. Join the Rev Geoff Boland for a show that will get you all nostalgic and remind you of some wonderful songs you thought you'd never hear on radio again. Who is the Rev? Geoff was ordained in 1989. Prior to that he worked as a printer, a painter, and a postman! For the last 18 years he has been a priest, preacher and pastor.
Geoff served his curacy in a Lancashire market town, sunny Ormskirk near Southport. After 5 years there he and his wife Teresa and children Andrew and Alison moved down to Finchley in London to work at St.Barnabas Church with John and Anne Coles. After another 5 years working in the dynamic atmosphere of St Barnabas Geoff and the family moved down to the relatively slower pace of Dorset. Geoff and Teresa have been the leading the work and ministry at St.Barnabas in the Canford Magna team for 8 years. Geoff loves music, football, preaching and walking along the Dorset coastline, he led worship at New Wine Lakeside in 1999 and wrote 3 songs for the Canford Magna Worship album back in 2003. All You Don't Need to Know About Geoff....He likes it down south ... There is nothing like ... a Sunday roast. He likes ... beer, walking, Thorntons chocolate and football (though not all at the same time). The best gig of all time (apart from DWC at Ferndown) ... Springsteen at Crystal Palace or Queen at the Liverpool Empire. The best album (LP, kiddies) ... "A Night at the Opera" (by Queen, for those not in the know) and "Sheet Music" (10cc). He hates ... Cheese - sorry Wallace! Click here to catch him on YouTube
